Technical Director Information

We are super proud to have Laura Dally join us as our Technical Director! As listed below she has extensive knowledge of the game of basketball and has played at a very high level. Please help us welcome her aboard and please feel free to contact her for any help with the game we all love. 

She is availbale to help out with your coaching needs for the season! Please contact her if you would like help with setting up practice plans, to have her attend a practice or just give you pointers on coaching. Her contact information is below as are her hours of availability.

Availability:

  • Monday – Friday: 430-10pm
  • Weekends: Varies
  • All times are subject to change and can be flexible around specific practice times and gym availability

  • Laura is available for one on one or small group personalized skill work and development outside of SMBA scheduled practices
  • This would be considered personal training sessions and not covered by the SMBA, rates available upon request!

 

BIO: Laura Dally – Technical/Skills Coordinator

 

  • Born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario
  • Started playing basketball in grade 4 and loved it ever since!
  • Played my high school career at Sarnia Northern Collegiate, playing at the senior level grades 9-12
  • Played with Canada’s Junior National Team (2008-2010)
  • Made the decision to stay in Canada and play post secondary basketball at the U Sports (CIS) level for the University of Western Ontario Mustangs in the OUA conference (2010-2013)
  • After 3 seasons with the Mustangs, I decided to transfer and play my last 2 years of university ball for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies (CanWest)

Basketball Career Timeline:

  • U of S 2014-15 Season:
    • CanWest Silver Medalists
    • Third Team Conference All-Star
    • 4th place finish at the CIS Nationals Championships
  • Development National Team 2014-15:
    • Competed for Team Canada at the 2015 University Games in Gwangju, South Korea
    • Silver medalists
  • U of S 2015-16 season
    • CanWest Champions
    • CIS National Champions
    • CanWest first team conference All-Star
    • CanWest MVP
    • First Team All-Canadian
    • CIS National Championship first team All-Star
  • Senior Women’s National Team 2016:
    • Travelled with the Senior Women’s National team for the summer in 2016 to various exhibition tournaments in Europe
  • Professional Career 2016-17:
    • Rotenburg, Germany – DBBL (#1 League)
    • Team: BG ’89 Avides Hurricanes
  • Senior Women’s National Team Member 2017:
    • Competed all over the world during the summer of 2017 (Europe, China, South America)
    •  2017 Women’s AmeriCup Champions in Buenos Ares, Argentina
    • Qualifying the Canadian Women’s basketball team for World Championships in Spain this coming summer 2018
