Spring League for 2017
Our Spring League Program has two levels of play:
3 on 3 Competitive League and D League (Developmental)
1. 3 on 3 Competitive- this level will be anyone who wants to play competitively, previous competitive basketball experience is required. 3 on 3 requires at least 2 years of competitive basketball.
Designed for experienced players looking for competition and game experience.
Players will make their own team of 6 players. If you do not have a team you will be assigned to one.
When registering for 3 on 3 all six players must have the same parent contact, including an email address, on their registration form to be on the same team. If there are more than six players on one team the first six to register will be on that team. If for scheduling you have more than six players this must be listed on your registration in the comments section.
The age groups for 3 on 3 will be grades 5/6, grades 7/8, grades , grades 9/ 10/11.
Each team will play twice a week: 40- minute cross-court games
There will be no coaches for our 3 on 3, however one parent supervisor must be on the bench.
High school gyms will be used and earlier times will be provided for younger teams as much as possible.
2. D-League (Developmental League)- this league is a learn and play division where you can come if you desire to gain more fundamentals or if you have less basketball experience.
Designed for players new to the game or players looking to gain more experience.
Male and female players would register in one of three age categories:
Each player will attend sessions twice a week.
There will be approximately 30 minutes of learning skills and drills and depending on the ability of the whole group 30 minutes or less playing in controlled scrimmages. These scrimmages may be 1 on1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3 or 5 on 5, depending on the sessions or on what the coach feels the players can handle. The 30mins is an approximation and it may not be that layout for each practice. The first few practices will be for the coaches to learn about the players and see where they are at in their skills and knowledge of the game. Please remember these sessions are for learning the game of basketball and some practices may not involve scrimmages at all.
Goal: to work with players on the fundamentals of the game and practicing their new skills each week..
These are the tentative days that each group will play/practice: These days may changes so please be aware when you are registering.
